L’Hospi, camperol, obrer i modern

Som a l'ermita romànica de Bellvitge que avui en dia sobreviu i és l'orgull del barri. Bellvitge és un barri dignificat i estandart de l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, i la seva ermita, senyal d'identitat. Aquest és el punt de sortida de la nostra ruta que ens porta, tot seguit, fins a la Rambla de la Marina.

Aquí trobem el Pont de la llibertat, monument d'Eduard Arranz-Bravo que simbolitza la unió de les dues Espanyes massa anys separades i la voluntat de recuperar la memòria històrica d'aquells que van perdre la vida per la llibertat des de l'Hospitalet i Catalunya.

Una memòria que a l'Hospitalet és obrera i així ho demostren els seus carrers: Carrer del Cobalt, Carrer del Crom i la Travessia Industrial. Dolors Marins sap molt de la història anarquista de la ciutat. Ens citem clandestinament davant d'on hi havia hagut el Banco Hispano-Americano, el primer banc que va atracar en Quico Sabaté.

També volem descobrir l'Hospitalet cosmopolita, així que anem fins a l'Avinguda Carrilet on hi ha la Sala Salamandra, un referent pel que fa a música en directe. David de la Fuente és un dels fundadors d'aquest local que aposta per una programació arriscada amb grups que comencen a emergir. Aquest risc però, comporta una satisfacció personal i una feina engrescadora que troba la seva recompensa en el reconeixement i el record dels grups que s'han fet grans tocant en aquesta mítica sala.

Un lloc que simbolitza la multiculturalitat de l'Hospitalet de Llobregat és el Bar Deportes. Popularitzat pel famós veí de la ciutat, José Corbacho, aquest establiment fundat l'any 1963 és regentat actualment per llatinoamericans, el cuiner és magrebí i el plat estrella... la paella.

Des de l’ermita romànica de Bellvitge, on els pagesos de la marina es trobaven per anar a missa o en aplecs, fins el creixement industrial que conforma un moviment obrer d’avantguarda, l’Hospitalet de Llobregat ha estat sempre una ciutat socialment potent i cohesionada. Però la imatge de l’Hospi d’avui va mes enllà, i mostra la seva cara més cosmopolita i moderna.
